                               Directed the Chancel choir, children’s choir, and handbell choir (5 octaves).  Worship committee.  Christmas, Easter, Tenebrae and Music Services.  Childrens sermons.  Occasional sermons.  Formed a Mens’ Quintet, which performs two or three times annually.  Recruits and works with soloists.  Restructured the music library.

                                 Trinity United Methodist Church

                               Directed the Chancel choir (30+), children’s choir, and handbell choir (3 octaves).  Worship committee.   Co-directed the annual Christmas musical, as well as an Easter or Tenebrae concert or production.   Formed a Ladies’ Quartet (Gloria), which performed frequently in public.  Resurrected handbell choir (previously dormant for 10 years).  Founded the Arcadia Children’s Chorus, which invited non-member children to participate in the children’s choir.  Restructured the music library.

 

                              Classroom Teacher                                               August 2000 – May 2003

                                 West Elementary School

                               Worked with at-risk children in grades 1 – 5, first at a classroom teacher, then as a specialist, pulling children out of the classroom to work with them in a therapeutic small group setting. Instituted the Bridges Lab and the HOSTS Math program at West Elementary.  Coordinated ‘Mentors’ (adult volunteers) to work with the children one-on-one.

                               Gloria Musicae is an auditioned professional chorus under the direction of Dr. Elwood Smith, Sarasota, Florida.  Chorus, solos.

                                 DeSoto Middle School

                               7 – 8 choir, 6th general music.  Active in All-State and District Festivals.  Served as the Florida Vocal Association District VIII Coordinator 1998 – 2000.  Performed two or more concerts per year, plus outreach activities such as civic parades and Relay for Life.
