Voice Lessons

Voice Lessons - General and High School Students (Grades 7 – 12)

    •Parents invited to lessons. •Lessons are once per week for 60 minutes •First Unit (6-12 weeks) is spent on vocal production •Sight Reading is integrated into all lessons •Song work will begin after first unit is completed •Songs are chosen jointly •Choral music from school or church will be addressed on student request •Lessons are recorded •Books and notebook required •Practice time varies from 30 – 60 minutes per day.

Voice Lessons - Future Music Majors

    •Parents invited to lessons. •Lessons are once or twice per week for 60 minutes •First Unit (6-12 weeks) is spent on vocal production •Sight Reading and Music Theory is heavily integrated into all lessons •Choral music from school or church will be addressed on student request •Song work will begin after first unit is completed •Songs are chosen by teacher with college audition and competition in mind •Participation in district and state competitions is expected •Lessons are recorded •Books and notebook required •Practice time varies from 60 – 90 minutes per day.

Voice Lessons - Adult Beginners

    •Lessons are once per week for 60 minutes •First Unit (6-12 weeks) is spent on vocal production •Sight Reading is integrated into all lessons •Song work will begin after first unit is completed •Lessons are recorded •Books and notebook required •Practice time varies from 30 – 60 minutes per day.

Voice Lessons - Adult Professionals (Audition required)

    •Lessons are once or twice per week for 60 minutes •Lessons may be scheduled on an ‘as needed’ basis. •Sight Reading is integrated into lessons as needed •Emphasis on interpretation or technique as needed •Repertoire is self selected unless requested otherwise. •Lessons are recorded •Books and notebook required •Practice time varies from 90 - 120 minutes per day.

Voice Lessons - Adult Choir Members

    •Lessons are once per week for 60 minutes •Emphasis placed on music reading and theory as needed •First Unit (6-12 weeks) is spent on vocal production •Sight Reading is integrated into all lessons •Song work will begin after first unit is completed •Weekly anthems or choral literature may be worked on in lesson by request •Lessons are recorded •Books and notebook required •Practice time varies from 30 – 60 minutes per day.
